Have you ever noticed that sustainable crocheters and eco warriors, like ourselves, are very often drawn to boho crochet patterns and the boho-chic style?

Following an eco friendly lifestyle often means that we are rejecting mainstream values, social norms and expectations and choosing to live differently. It means embracing creativity, giving more focus to freedom of expression and nature; similarly to bohemianism.

I’ve put together a list of 15 boho crochet patterns that I love for some alternative living inspiration.

A grid of four photos of different boho crochet patterns. From top left to bottom right; 1. A cream coloured tote bag. 2. A pink lacy cup cosy. 3. A grey, lacy beach cover up. 4. A cream coloured table runner with a diagonal stitch pattern.

Which Yarns to Use for Boho-Chic?

Another common attribute between bohemian and sustainable living is that we have a deep connection to nature and as such many boho crochet patterns are designed with sustainable yarns like cotton, hemp or linen.

Here are some of my favourites. Make sure you check the weight to see if it matches with your chosen project.
